Roots, Dreams, and Determination
Before there were stadium lights and roaring crowds, our journeys began along the tree-lined streets of Ypsilanti, Michigan. The children of a wise physician and a thoughtful teacher, we grew up in a home where excellence was not an exception but an example set each day by our parents, Thomas and Louise. Their passion for helping others shaped our view of leadership as a quiet strength. Early days found us on local fields and school courts, playing football, basketball, baseball, and tearing down tracks — always reaching for something greater with the support of our sisters, Leah and Ann.
High school brought moments that still live with us, not in trophies, but in memories of teamwork, grit, and afternoons spent chasing fly balls or lining up for a crucial down. In 1963, that drive opened a door: a football scholarship to the University of Michigan. Those years were about more than gridiron battles; we found mentors, learned discipline, and made history as part of the 1965 Rose Bowl-winning team. Our studies in Psychology and Education taught us the value of understanding others and staying humble in victory and defeat.
Through every chapter, we carried lessons from home — respect, effort, and the belief that setbacks teach us just as much as our wins. Those roots shaped every step that followed, whether on the field or in life. We invite you to step into our story and discover a collection curated not only from milestones but from a lifetime of memories and values shared with family and fans.

The Journey of a Legend: Mike Bass #41

The Gridiron Legacy (1967–1976) Recruited by the legendary Vince Lombardi, Mike Bass solidified his place in football history as a premier cornerback for Washington. Over a decade-long NFL career, he appeared in 104 consecutive games, recording 30 career interceptions—the 4th most in franchise history.
His most iconic moment came in Super Bowl VII, where he returned a fumble 49 yards for Washington’s only touchdown, a play that remains one of the most famous in NFL history. His elite consistency earned him a spot as one of the 70 Greatest Washington Players of All Time and a 2022 induction into the Washington Commanders Ring of Fame.
A Life of Service & Leadership Following his NFL retirement, Mike’s journey took him to the Bahamas for 18 years, where he managed a resort and coached local teams to multiple championships. Upon returning to the U.S. in 1997, he served as a counselor at the University of Florida, helping students reach their full academic potential. This lifelong commitment to mentorship and excellence remains the foundation of his personal and professional philosophy: "Self-praise is no recommendation at all."

During his career, he played 104 consecutive games, gave up only 8 touchdown passes, scored 6 touchdowns (4 by interceptions), and was considered one of the smartest cornerbacks in the NFL. Upholding the Legacy

Managing Director
Mike
From the very start, Mike Bass exhibited the leadership and role model traits of a first-born child. Born March 31, 1945, in Ypsilanti, Mich., a suburb of Detroit, to Thomas and Louise Bass, Mike made quite a name for himself in a family that already was blessed with great gifts and skills.
As the son of a medical doctor (Thomas ) and a teacher (Louise), Mike set an example of excellence for his two younger sisters, Leah and Ann, by distinguishing himself in the classroom and on the athletic fields. While at Ypsilanti High School, Mike was a three-sport athlete, earning honors in football, basketball, and track and field. But, it was football that led him to his destiny.
The recipient of a scholarship in 1963 to longtime football power University of Michigan, Mike played on the winning team in the 1965 Rose Bowl. A major in Psychology, he graduated two years later with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education.
